Ban on Vuvuzela Usage in Karachi on Independence Day

ban on vuvuzela in karachi

In preparation for Independence Day celebrations in Karachi, the Malir Court has issued a prohibition on the sale, purchase, and utilization of vuvuzelas within the city.

Vuvuzelas, small plastic musical instruments similar to trumpets that emit loud sounds when blown into, have been subjected to this ban.

The Judicial Magistrate of Malir, Syed Anwar Ali Shah, has directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sharif Goth and Sachal areas to ensure enforcement of this directive.

Under Section 192 of the Criminal Code, the Karachi Police have been instructed to take appropriate measures.

The decision to impose this ban stems from concerns about potential disruptions on Independence Day due to the noise generated by vuvuzelas.

These instruments have gained popularity among young people and children who use them to commemorate this national holiday. The intent behind the ban is to maintain a peaceful and respectful atmosphere during the celebrations.
