Nation Celebrated Defence Day with Traditional Zeal, Fervor

The nation celebrated the 58th Defence and Martyrs Day across the country with great enthusiasm and national spirit. 

The day is observed to commemorate and honor the sacrifices of the martyrs who shed their blood for the safety of Pakistan.

Various organizations organized several events, including seminars, conferences, and debate programs.

Special prayers and Quran Khawanis were also held in mosques following Fajr prayers for the country’s prosperity and stability.

Iran Agrees to Help Pakistan in Gas Pipeline project 

Iran on Tuesday announced that it will provide full support to Pakistan for the gas pipeline project.

During an interview, the Iranian ambassador said that Iran is keen to help Pakistan in completing energy projects. 

This will strengthen economic ties between the two countries and build up mutual trust.

There were no restrictions on Iran’s gas exports, and Pakistan could take full use of them to meet its energy requirements, he added. 

Govt Increased Flood Relief Funding to Rs70 billion

Shehbaz-led Government has agreed to increase the net amount of flood relief aid for flood-affected people from the initial assessment of 28 billion rupees to 70 billion rupees. 

The prime minister of Pakistan made this announcement while chairing a federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday. 

The 2.5-fold expansion in the volume of the support program has been made in response to the extensive damage to infrastructure and agriculture caused by floods.

PM Sharif also personally visited with the victims at the relief camp and handed over compensation checks to them.

Japan to Give $7MN Grant to Pakistan Flood Victims

The government of Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance worth US$ 7 million to Pakistan to respond to the floods. 

The Japanese Embassy in Pakistan released this news statement on Tuesday.

It is also worth mentioning that the Japanese government has previously given tents and plastic sheets as emergency assistance supplies through JICA.

Mohammad Rizwan Declared Fit to Play Against Afghanistan

Mohammad Rizwan, a gifted wicket-keeper batsman, has been declared fit by the Pakistan cricket team medical team to play in the upcoming important match against Afghanistan.

According to an update shared with sports journalists, Rizwan is being checked by medical staff and will be back on the pitch at Sharjah Cricket Stadium soon.

Rizwan got injured while trying to catch a high bouncer from Mohammad Hasnain in the Asia Cup Super 4 stage on Sunday, 4 September.
