A Chinese national was rescued by a Pakistani fisherman on Wednesday as he was in danger of drowning at Bhandar Island, located off the coast of Karachi. Haji Abdullah, the captain of the fishing vessel, reported seeing a man swimming in the water near Korangi Creek as he and his crew set out to fish first thing in the morning. A Chinese national was rescued and brought aboard the vessel. The victim was initially sent to Ibrahim Hyderi, a fishing town. The Chinese man was eventually turned over by the fishermen to Maritime Security Agency agents at a nearby checkpoint (MSA).

4. British Airways Virgin Atlantic has Announced to Increase its Flights to Pakistan

Previously operating six flights per week out of Islamabad and Lahore, the British airline Virgin Atlantic has announced an increase to nine flights each week. In accordance with the information provided, five round-trip flights will be offered by Virgin Atlantic from Lahore. Flights depart London on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and return to London on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The revised schedule for the British airline’s four flights from Islamabad will begin on January 11, 2023.

8. Lahore Board Replaces Supplementary Exams with Second Annual Examination

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has introduced a system of first annual examination and second annual examination against the supplementary examinations. The supplementary examinations for failed students have been put to an end. Students who have failed four topics are required to take and pass the additional examination within three years. These students will be allowed to take papers in the first and second yearly examinations.
