KP Govt Set Out On A Mission To Plant 60 Million Trees in Hazara
As a preventative step for floods and landslides, the Forest Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has begun planting trees in the Hazara Division.
District and Sessions Judge Zia ur Rehman kicked off this program at the Mansehra court complex yesterday. The Chief Conservator of Hazara Division, Yousuf Khan, was also present at the occasion.
According to sources, the Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited would provide over 100,000 saplings to the KP Forest Department for this project.
Proton Pakistan Reduced Car Prices Following Currency Appreciation
In a turn of events Proton Pakistan has announced a price drop for its vehicles in Pakistan with effect starting on August 24, 2022. This price reduction has been implemented as a result of the improving value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
The notification says that both proton Saga and X70 will now be less expensive. Saga AT, will cost Rs. 29.99 lac, Saga MT Rs. 28.24 lac, and Saga Ace, the high-end Saga, Rs. 31.49 lac.

Rickshaw Project Kicked Off to Empower Disabled Pakistanis
The First Lady, Begum Samina Arif Alvi, distributed rickshaws to people with disabilities at the Governor House Karachi on August 23. These rickshaws have been exclusively designed for differently abled individuals and may be handled entirely by hand.
Begum Alvi stated in her brief remarks that these contemporary rickshaws will assist people with impairments in becoming self-sufficient. Telenor Partnered with Roche to Promote Nationwide Health Awareness
Telenor Pakistan has teamed up with Roche Diagnostics Pakistan in order to boost health awareness throughout the country. Under the new agreement, Telenor Pakistan will educate the masses in the local and rural areas of Pakistan about various diseases, their symptoms, and the need of seeking medical attention.
Telenor Pakistan will also advertise its Khushaal Sehat App as part of the campaign so that people can call in later for further information if needed. Khushal Watan is a local lifestyle portal that focuses on rural infotainment, m-Agri advisories, and m-health.
Special Ph.D. Scholarship Program Launched in Punjab
Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairman of HEC Punjab, highlighted the work of the Higher Education Commission in Punjab to offer an innovative scholarship program for Ph.D. students.
Speaking at the event, he said that HEC Punjab aspires to foster excellent research that would address industrial problems and contribute to Pakistan’s development.

Govt Announces Relief for Power Consumers
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that 17 million power users will be excused from paying the high fuel prices adjustment in their electricity bills. He made this announcement in a video address from Qatar Tuesday night. He said that after discussing with the IMF, Nawaz Sharif, and other members of the cabinet, we have decided that power users would not have to pay the FCA. FCA exception will apply to tube well users as well, he added.
PTA Renewed License of CMPak (Zong) for G-B, AJK
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has extended Zong’s cellular mobile license for Azad Jammu Kashmir AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan in order to let it expand or continue its next-generation mobile services in the region.
As reported by the authorities, the PTA has collected half of the total mandated license renewal cost of $17.5 million. The remaining, on the other hand, is supposed to be paid by Zong in 10 equal annual installments. The license renewal event took place at PTA Headquarters, Islamabad, and was attended by senior management of PTA, Frequency Allocation Board, and CMPak.
