Ayesha Ayaz has become the very first Pakistani to win two gold medals, one bronze, and one silver. Her father too is one of the best Pakistan martial arts trainers.
The young taekwondo sensation also received praise for her excellent triumph from Lt Col Waseem Ahmed, head of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation. Waseem said that Ayesha is an important asset to our country, and we hope she will keep making Pakistan proud as always.
2- EV Charging Station Installed on Islamabad-Lahore Motorway
For Lahore and Islamabad commuters who often travel between the two cities, Pakistan State Oil took a wonderful initiative. The energy company has put up an electric charging station at the Bhera service stop on the Islamabad-Lahore highway. The sources say the charging station would help commuters on both north and south roads, which will be a comfort for people traveling from Lahore to Islamabad and the other way around. The outlets provide the capability of quick charging along with other features.
3- Angel Investors Pledged to Invest in Pak Startup PriceOye
PriceOye, one of Pakistan’s emerging ecommerce platforms, announced yesterday that it had garnered an initial investment of over $7 million from some of the top investors in the world, including PayPal founder Peter Thiel and Mercury Bank CEO Immad Akhund.
According to details of the settlement released, the startup will broaden its network of collaborators, add new products and categories to the catalog, and carry out other related tasks.
Fatima Gobi Ventures, SOSV, and Artistic Ventures also joined angel investors Thiel, and Immad Akhund in the round.
4- Govt to Integrate Kamyab Jawan, Kamyab Pakistan Programs
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government has decided to combine the Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP) with the Kamyab Jawan Program (KJP). Miftah Ismail, the current Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, revealed the details during a meeting on Tuesday.
He said that the government will integrate the two initiatives into one, which would be administered by the Prime Minister’s Office under the direction of the SAPM on Youth Affairs. Miftah further added that the Finance Division would support this program wholeheartedly and make every effort to allocate a greater amount of funds to it in order to address the country’s present flood crisis.
5- Google To Grant 15,000 Annual Scholarships for Pakistani Youth
The US-based multinational IT company Google has decided to grant 15,000 yearly scholarships to qualified young, talented people from Pakistan in an effort to encourage the very potential IT sector in the country.
Dr. Afnanullah Khan, a member of the Senate’s Standing Committee on IT made this announcement on Tuesday. He said that “The American tech giant wants to invest $3.5 million in Pakistan ”.
Afnanullah went on to say that Pakistan can now focus on a variety of IT-related issues in order to soon become a regional IT power.
6- Balochistan Scored Victory in National T-20 Cricket Cup
At the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Balochistan defeated Central Punjab with a thrilling two-run win in the second game of the National T20 Cup. Balochistan chose to bat first after winning the toss and set Central Punjab a victory target of 187 runs in the allocated twenty overs. Abdul Bangalzai and Shan Masood both scored 54 runs.
7- MOITT To Launch Pakistan National ICT Development White Paper
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom is all set to launch the “National Data Governance Policy,” which will cover several areas of data governance, says Syed Amin Ul Haque, the Federal Minister for IT.
By enhancing data management and quality, this initiative is being taken to ensure the security of national information systems and infrastructure. According to Syed Amin Ul Haque, a draft on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology is also being developed. In this regard, he said that the Cloud First Policy will help create a common platform for all departments to handle and keep their data.
