Following the third wave of Coronavirus and rise in cases, all universities in Punjab’s seven cities have declared an early spring break from March 15 to March 28.
On the advice of the National Command and Operation Center, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) made the decision (NCOC).
Between the 15th and the 28th of March, universities in Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Rawalpindi will be closed for physical attendance however, during the spring break academic process will resume online.
Furthermore, all already scheduled and pre-scheduled exams in these cities’ universities will be held as scheduled, with strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs.
On Thursday, the NCOC’s Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) declared spring vacations in Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Rawalpindi schools and colleges.
The decision to reconsider the school and college decision comes only days after the government reopened daily classes on March 1. Notice that after a two-month suspension due to the second Coronavirus epidemic in October-November, all educational establishments around the country reopened on February 1st.
