China Railway Construction Corp. constructed the primary stadium for the Qatar 2022 World Cup final, which will take place in the seaside city of Lusail (CRCC).
On this project, Muhammad Saif Ijaz, a Pakistani contract manager with CRCC, lauded his employees’ perseverance in the sweltering conditions.
“I’m fortunate to have this opportunity, as this was my first time taking part in a building project of this magnitude. This project is renowned throughout the world, not only in Qatar. In the future, it would benefit my career”, Saif Ijaz continued.
He was asked how it felt to work on the project, and he responded that it helped him understand Qatar’s traditions and culture. He also mentioned that he spent almost 5 years there, where everyone was treated equally under the law, whether they were “foreigners or local citizens.”
He said it is an honour for him and his business to have contributed to building the Lusail Stadium, which will serve as the site of the World Cup final. He continued by saying that Chinese contractors are skilled and diligent in addition to being financially stable.
The main challenge that Chinese labourers had while working was language, according to Saif, 42, who has spent ten years working for the China Railway Construction Corp (CRCC). The workers there, he continued, were all able to get beyond this difficulty because Chinese engineers helped them with translation.
