- Bollywood needs to step up the research game.
- Sidharth Malhotra has now become a meme material
- Mission Majnu is stereotyping Muslims
Before telling you about the stereotypes let us just give you a little review of the movie. As usual the obsession of Bollywood movies about portraying Pakistan as a terrorist state will never end hence the concept of this new movie is no different than all other movies.
Mission Majnu is the codename of an Indian intelligence operation to infiltrate and gather information on Pakistan’s nuclear program in the early 1970s. The operation was led by the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and involved the recruitment and training of an Indian spy named Ravindra Kaushik, who was able to infiltrate Pakistan’s military and gather valuable information on their nuclear program. The operation was successful and the information gathered was used to develop India’s nuclear program.
We are in 2023 and bollywood is still stereotyping muslims by making them wear kohl, skull cap and Amulet for luck. However, if bollywood conducts a little research before portraying any muslim character they will notice that muslims don’t wear Kohl, Amulet or skull cap in Pakistan.
Bollywood has this other obsession of “Adaab”, no, we do not greet each other by saying Adaab we never did. Therefore, Bollywood needs to level up their research work before portraying muslims.
Sidharth Malhotra has become a meme material after the trailer of Mission Majnu portrayed him with the stereotypical getup as a tailor. Well, we hope bollywood will soon get over with its obsession of portraying Pakistan negatively.
