Pakistan wins the T20I Tri-Series by five wickets over New Zealand.
Final match of the Tri-Series was played between Pakistan and New Zealand today. New Zealand had set a target of 164 runs for Pakistan in the Final match at Christchurch. Babar Azam, the team captain, departed after scoring 15 off 14 balls.
Pakistan won the series after chasing the mark with three balls remaining and five wickets in hand after limiting New Zealand to 163 for 7.
At the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Friday, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by five wickets in the T20I tri-series championship match. The third group included Bangladesh.
Pakistan initially required 67 runs off the final six overs to chase down 164. But Mohammad Nawaz (38*) and Haider Ali (13), who smashed Kiwi leg spinner Ish Sodhi for 25 runs in his final over, changed the tide in favor of the men in green.
In the end, Pakistan crossed the finish line with three balls left.
