Good news for all Pakistanis as according to the new policy the duty rates on new cars, mobile phones, and other goods will be cut significantly.
The decision has been taken because the policy to contain imports through heavy taxation does not make any major impact but it has severely impacted business in the country.
Two SROs that governed the increased rates expired on 31st March after which it has been decided not to extend their validity period.
Consequently, there will be a relative decrease in prices for consumer goods such as new and used vehicles, advanced mobile phones, household appliances, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, footwear, furniture, musical instruments, pet food, and ice cream.
