In a heartwarming affair, Pakistani cricket sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi and Ansha Afridi, daughter of former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, celebrated their union for the second time this year. Their initial nuptials took place in February 2023 in an intimate ceremony, and this time, they went all out, hosting a grand wedding celebration attended by notable figures from the cricketing world.
The lavish event unfolded in Karachi at a picturesque venue, exuding opulence and elegance that matched the stature of the event. Esteemed personalities from the cricketing realm graced the occasion, including Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.
The ceremony commenced with a vibrant mehendi ceremony the day prior, setting the tone for the festivities. Shaheen Afridi and Ansha’s nikkah was initially solemnized at a local mosque in Karachi back in February, witnessed by close relatives from both families.
The valima, the celebratory feast, is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on September 21, marking another momentous occasion in their journey. Interestingly, the couple had already exchanged engagement vows two years ago, signifying the depth of their relationship.
In an earlier interview on the Geo News show “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath,” Shaheen Afridi had shared his desire to marry Ansha, a wish that was heartwarmingly fulfilled. Responding to inquiries about his early engagement and the potential jealousy from female fans, Shaheen expressed contentment, emphasizing that he had found his heart, and that was enough for him.
Adding a sweet touch to the celebratory spirit, Shaheen Afridi posted a delightful picture with skipper Babar Azam, dispelling any rumors of a rift between them. The camaraderie was evident as Shaheen referred to Babar as ‘family’ with a heart emoji, reinforcing the bond beyond the cricket field.
