Abubakr Sheikhani

Abubakr Sheikhani is a space enthusiast and graduate of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology. He is one of the founders of the Karachi Astronomers Society and has been working as a dedicated astrophotographer for a long time.

Dr. Farrukh Shahzad

Dr. Farrukh Shahzad, a medical doctor by profession, is a self-learned astrophotographer, and the founder and current vice-president of Pak Astronomers Islamabad (PAS – ISB). 

He lives in Islamabad and his passion to reach for the stars has led him to organize multiple astronomy activities at universities like NUST, AIR, and IST.

In the above image, Dr. Farrukh Shahzad has captured the Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443) which is a supernova remnant. It is located in the constellation Gemini about 5000 light-years from Earth (4.7304e+16km).

In this image, he has captured the Sombrero Galaxy (M104 or NGC 4594). It is located in the constellation borders of Corvus and Virgo, 31 million light-years (2.93282645e+20km) from the Milky Way (our galaxy).

Umair Asim lives in Lahore and is a graduate of the James Cook University, in Astronomy. He is the president and one of the founding members of Lahore Astronomical Society and Eden Astronomical Observatory which contains a 14-inch telescope among others.

His images have been internationally recognized and one of his lunar shots has made it to the Lunar Photo of the Day website.
