Lahore: Lahore’s Sheikh Zayed Hospital has announced that it will no longer give free medicines and treatment to patients on the Sehat card.
Recently, the hospital administration announced that it had closed its health card offices and State Life Insurance Company due to its incompetence in managing health cards. From now on, patients will have to buy their medicines and medical supplies from private pharmacies on their own. The hospital isn’t helping them anymore.
Health card holders who could previously claim free treatment from the hospital. Now, hospitals are claiming that they have a shortage of funds. They further said we need more money to pay for the patient’s bill and medical supplies, so we can’t manage to provide sehat card facilities.
People are showing anger toward this decision. They are saying at least we have the option to get medical treatment free because we can’t afford the heavy payment of bills from the hospital. They want the government to allot them again Sehat card.
