Toyota, a leading car manufacturer, plans to launch the 5th generation of the infamous Toyota Prius by December 2022. The 1.8-liter gasoline hybrid will be launched by Dec 2022 and the Hydrogen PHEV version will be launched by 2023.
The 5th generation Prius will look like a coupe car and will consist of lithium-ion batteries. The new variants are expected to be more efficient and support carbon neutrality without moving towards complete electrification.
The Toyota Prius was first launched in 1997. It has been a popular and successful hybrid vehicle since then. The 4rth-generation was introduced in 2015, and the 5th is on its way.
Along with Prius, the company will also launch the Corolla Sports GR by the end of 2022. It will be a 4WD, five-door high-performance hatchback car.
The Corolla GR will incorporate a 1.6 liters, 257 hp 3-cylinder gasoline turbocharged engine like the GR Yaris. The GR Yaris has won multiple awards including, the UK Car of the year 2021. The Corolla GR will not be using hydrogen but the company does plan the launch of Corolla’s hydrogen variant by 2023.
