Cybercrimes have been escalating in Pakistan for the past few years, people are being bullied and it badly affects their mental health and personal life. Although, there are helplines present where you can report such incidents but nobody wants to get stuck in the long process. The previous Government and the current government have been taking measures to control cybercrime and bullying to give a safe space to citizens.
Recently, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that the government is now taking strict measures to stop cybercrime that is being committed in the name of “Freedom of Speech ” since there is a fine line between freedom of speech and cyberbullying.
He further added by saying that the constitution promotes and guarantees the freedom of speech movement; however, if someone is publicly misconducting then it will not be considered a freedom of speech.
Rana Sanaullah also mentioned that the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan should stop the blame game and provide evidence instead.
