The ICT internship portal has been recently launched, to connect graduates with IT companies.
The 488.88 Million Rupee program will place 3500 graduates at various IT companies in the country in the next 3 years.
Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) recently inaugurated the ICT (Islamabad Capital Territory) Internship portal at the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) head office.
During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput stated that for a progressive future, the IT industry requires talented and trained professionals. He added that the IT industry is highly supported by the government through attractive incentives.
Several projects have been dedicated to assist the IT sector and to promote its growth, making sure local and export earnings rise in the coming years. Dr. Sohail also praised Pakistan’s IT sector for serving 120 countries and bringing valuable foreign exchange along with generating high-paying jobs.
He highlighted that the IT sector and its continued success have improved productivity and quality of life in the country.
The Managing Director of the Pakistan Software Export Board, Osman Nasir stated that the internship portal aims to reduce the gap between the IT industry and recent graduates.
The program promotes inclusivity, therefore has 500 reserved seats for graduates from Baluchistan and 2% seats for the disabled. The event was attended by senior members from both MoITT and PSEB.
The program offers a promising future to IT graduates with the hopes of uplifting the IT industry to new heights.
