Amazon, the American retail giant, has officially added Pakistan to its certified list of retailers, thus opening up a significant window of opportunity for e-commerce in the region. Pakistani vendors will be able to build Amazon IDs and sell their goods on the global marketplace for the first time.
They have been working around the clock to get Pakistan added to Amazon’s certified seller list, and their efforts have paid off!
When more sellers access the site than ever before, this landmark will dramatically alter the game and usher in a new period of economic development.
Previously, Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment, said that the growth of e-commerce has increased in recent years due to the advancement and ease of access to the internet. He went on to say that, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the popularity of e-commerce has grown exponentially, rendering it an increasingly important field of the economy.
Now that Pakistan has been added to Amazon’s authorized seller list, one can only pray and hope that this will lead to significant changes in the country’s growth.
