Lahore Makes QR Panic Code Mandatory for Ride-Hailing Cars and Rickshaws before 1st July, 2026.

Qr code for indrive, yango and rickshaw users

Lahore Traffic Police has issued and made it mandatory that all ride-hailing cars and rickshaws display a QR safety code before 1st July, 2026. The goal is to improve passengers’ safety and make it convenient to commute and verify vehicle details during their journey.

The QR panic code for rides and rickshaws stores all the important information, like vehicle number, time of arrival, or departure. In case there is any emergency, passengers can quickly scan the code and access relevant details or use the panic feature in it to alert the designated authorities for rescue. Officials firmly believe this would help in reducing security concerns and improving accountability across ride-hailing services.

Authorities have instructed drivers and vehicle owners to obtain and display the QR code before the July 1 deadline If they fail to follow the instructions, they may face fines, enforcement action, or instructions on their operations.

This new policy is a step toward modernizing urban transportation and providing safe public transportation through an app-based taxi and rickshaw service. Passengers are encouraged to check for the QR code before starting their journey and report immediately if any vehicle fails to comply with the new regulations.
