Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the SEHR Program for Women, a new digital training initiative that helps women in rural areas develop valuable skills. The program prioritizes widows and differently abled women across Punjab, allowing them to learn digital skills from home.
This initiative empowers women, particularly those who face barriers to education and employment due to distance, limited resources, or other challenges.With the help of this program, many women across Punjab will receive online training in various digital and IT-related fields.
According to the details, this program will train around 27,000 women located in rural areas. The Punjab Skills Department will provide six months of online training under the program.
The department will train participants in high-demand skills such as web development, coding, digital marketing, e-commerce, graphic design, social media management, freelancing, data entry, office automation, and cybersecurity.
The government will give a scholarship to participants during the training period. Women who complete the program will receive desktop computers and free internet devices, enabling them to continue working online.
Creating New Employment Opportunities for Women
The government launched this initiative to increase women’s participation in the digital economy and help them discover new income-generating opportunities. After completing the training, successful participants will receive desktop computers and free internet access, allowing them to work as freelancers, start online businesses, or pursue remote employment opportunities.
Addressing the initiative, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that technology education is important for women as it would help them to build a better future and become financially independent. She also said that women living in villages should have access to the same opportunities as those living in urban areas.

With this program, digital inclusivity will increase and lead to a reduction of economic inequality. It would encourage women to participate in Pakistan’s growing technology sector.
Women who are eligible can apply for the training program through the Punjab Skills Development Department’s official platform and complete the entire process from home.
