The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) stepped up its enforcement efforts in 2026, carrying out raids across Punjab to combat food adulteration, counterfeit products, and safety violations. From expired ingredients to fake branded goods, several major operations put food businesses under increased scrutiny.
Special Assistant led the inspection of the Punjab Chief Minister on Food Safety, Salma Butt. The inspection caught the following violations by famous brands.

5 Big Crackdown Brands
The 5 big brands that caught in this inspection include.
1. Al Fatah (Gulberg Branch Lahore)
The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) partially shut down the l Fatah Gulberg branch and sealed its specific sections. The sections include meat, cheese, and bakery sections. The reason behind it includes the discovery of expired products and severe hygiene violations.
Additionally, the authorities found expired meat, cheese, ice cream, and bakery items on sale to the public. Inspectors observed unhygienic storage conditions in the storage area, including the presence of pests and cockroaches. They also found food items without proper traceability labels or visible expiry dates.
2. Imtiaz Super Market ( Gulberg Lahore )
Pakistan Food Authority and local administrations cracked down on Imtiaz due to the discovery of expired food products, including meat, wafers, and ice cream. Inspectors discovered that some frozen items and mango pulp were unhygienic and contaminated with fungus.
3. Tuscany Courtyard
Punjab Food Authority cracked down on Tuscany Courtyard located on MM Alam Road, Lahore. The inspection team sealed the branch and imposed a heavy fine after discovering that the kitchen used hazardous, burnt, and rancid cooking oil. They also uncovered severe negligence, unhygienic conditions, and the use of expired ingredients in the kitchen.
4. Sweet Creme
The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a Sweet Creme outlet in Gulberg, Lahore, following a public complaint. The branch was sealed over severe hygiene violations, specifically for using contaminated ice and expired syrups in their preparations, as well as operating without a valid license.
5. JayBees
The Punjab Food Authority cracked down on Jay Bees Lahore due to health and hygiene violations. The action taken by PFA was typically due to a substandard working environment and inadequate pest/insect control. Staff were caught using out-of-date, spoiled, or non-compliant food items and dairy in the products.
The crackdown reflects PFA’s continued push for safer food standards and stricter compliance in 2026.
