LG revealed its latest display prototype featuring a 48-inch flexible OLED that can be bent for gaming or flattened for watching TV. This is not the first time the company is revealing something of this sort. Last year before CES the company demonstrated a 65-inch TV meant for use inside planes that could be manually curved for passengers to watch movies.
The new 48-inch model will be unveiled at the upcoming CES’21. As per the company’s data, the new TV will arrive with LG Display’s Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) technology that echoes the screen to create audio. According to LG, the upcoming OLED TV can render you an immersive gaming experience and eliminating the need to buy a new flat TV for watching content.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the TV can bend with a radius of up to 1,000mm. It comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a variable refresh rate range that goes from 40Hz to 120Hz, and a response time of 0.1 milliseconds.
LG is continuously experimenting with flexible OLEDs. Previously, the company revealed a rollable TV that packs into a compact box. This time around, along with the said TV, the company also plans on showcasing its transparent bedroom tv at the upcoming electronics event.
