In the Women’s Asia Cup 2022, which is taking place in Bangladesh, all-rounder Kainat Imtiaz and her mother, Saleema Imtiaz, have represented Pakistan, bringing pride to the entire country.
Saleema, a member of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, and Kainat, the team’s representative, both officiated in their first international games on Saturday between India and Sri Lanka.
Kainat uploaded a picture of her mother to Instagram with the comment, “Presenting my mum as an umpire for ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2022. I’m really pleased with what she has accomplished. Such a motivated individual”
“I have been living my dream for her up till now,” she continued, “to represent Pakistan. And now, after a protracted wait, she will finally represent Pakistan. Together, we will represent Pakistan. I’m very excited. Alhamdulillah.”
“Officiated her 1st international game today India vs Sri Lanka. Many many congratulations to my dad who has supported us through every step of the way. Encouraged us, made us never quit, made us more focused and for being the best critic.”
In addition to thanking her father, Kainat also mentioned her brother and spouse, saying that she is fortunate to have them in her life.
