In an astonishing turn of events, a lion was seen taking a leisurely stroll down Sharah e Faisal, Karachi’s bustling main road. This unexpected spectacle left both citizens and onlookers in awe and disbelief as they gathered to witness this extraordinary event.

The lion’s leisurely journey led it to a parking lot near Ayesha Bawany College, prompting swift action from the police to ensure safety and manage the growing crowd of intrigued onlookers.

Huge Crowd Gathered to See the Lion

As the lion’s appearance unfolded, lines of vehicles formed as drivers and passengers sought to witness the captivating event. Law enforcement pieced together the narrative and revealed that the lion had managed to escape from a vehicle in transit.

The driver was taken into custody, and efforts were undertaken to rescue the lion, ultimately leading to the apprehension of its owner by the police.

The incident caused fear among citizens as the lion roamed freely on Sharea Faisal, near Aisha Bawany College. Captivating footage showed curious bystanders circling the area to catch a glimpse of the lion. Police revealed that the lion was seemingly a pet and that its owner had been identified.

The lion had previously attacked a citizen, fortunately leaving the individual unharmed. After attracting a crowd’s attention, the lion attempted to attack other bystanders and eventually sought shelter inside a building. Wildlife department officials and a significant police presence were called to the scene to address the situation.

Efforts were made to transport the pet lion in a pickup vehicle, but it managed to break free and hide in the basement of a commercial building. The lion’s owner, a resident of Karachi’s Garden area, arrived at the scene. The lion had escaped its cage while being moved for medical treatment, according to a police officer.

Legal Action Against the Owner

After over an hour, wildlife officials successfully captured the lion and transported it safely in a cage. The head of the Sindh Wildlife Department announced that legal action would be taken against the lion’s owner.

Deputy Conservator Mumtaz Soomro from the Wildlife Department noted that the lion was approximately two years old. Police claims that proper precautions were not taken as the animal was being transported, and necessary action will be taken against the owner.

This unusual incident has sparked discussions about safety regulations and the ownership of exotic animals in Pakistan, adding to the fear of the citizens.
