Pakistani Freelancers Earned $150 Million During FY 2019-20

Despite the global downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Pakistan’s freelance population maintained its momentum in 2020, receiving $150 million.

According to the Pakistan Software Export Board’s new report “Pakistan’s IT Industry” for the year 2020, the country’s IT industry is in good shape, based on the sector’s achievements. Furthermore, Pakistan has not only secured the top spot in Asia, but has also ranked fourth in the world in terms of freelance earnings growth in the second quarter, behind only the United States at 78 percent, the United Kingdom at 59 percent, and Brazil at only 1% more than Pakistan.

It is also indicated that the enormous number of freelancer population in Pakistan is their 20s or 30s. This indicates the scarcity of jobs in Pakistan and the determination of our youth to not sit idle at home.
