The covid-19 pandemic greatly disrupted the university system. Students were shifted towards online classes since face-to-face classes were forced to shut down.
At the beginning, many universities could not adopt to this new style of learning and even some students were unable to take full advantage of these online courses. In the start there were only 23 online courses across Pakistan. however, as of now around 57% of universities all over the country are now adequately equipped to impart online education.
According to HEC, 113,614 out of 118,331 courses can now be taught completely online. Which is a huge development in the education sector as students no longer have to worry about the lingering Covid-19 threat and continue their courses online without any hassle.
Committee’s Chairman, MNA Mian Najeeb-ud-Din Awaisi, expressed satisfaction over HEC’s statistics and lauded the commission for implementing the recommendations of the committee.
