PTI Chairman Imran Khan revealed on Tuesday that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) has become the world’s second hospital to receive enterprise-level Accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI).
The accreditation, which is the greatest honor in the medical community, was given in appreciation of the compassionate patient care program ensured by the hospital.
Khan took to Twitter, saying:
I’m glad to announce that Shaukat Khanum has earned total Enterprise Accreditation from the Joint Commission International following a three-week thorough survey, making it the second organization in the world to do so.
The enterprise survey assessed and evaluated the Shaukat Khanum healthcare system’s ability to provide consistent care throughout Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi facilities.
The JCI is a leader in certifying healthcare quality in hospitals around the world. It is headquartered in the United States.
The former prime minister also praised contributors, supporters, and hospital staff. He said:
“I want to express my gratitude to all of the thousands of Shaukat Khanum employees for their dedication and diligence”
Shaukat Khanum Lahore was first accredited by JCI in 2018 and re-accredited in 2021, whereas Shaukat Khanum Peshawar was first accredited in 2019 and re-accredited in 2022.
It is also pertinent to note that Shaukat Khanum Karachi Diagnostic Centre and Clinic received its preliminary certification last month.
The survey procedure included a thorough examination of administrative, clinical, and operational aspects.
JCI Enterprise Accreditation confirmed that all activities within the network conform to the same high standards and precise regulations, from patient care to procurement to waste disposal to facility safety.
Thanks to this accreditation, patients can feel secure knowing they will receive the best care possible in accordance with international standards in the hospital, regardless of their financial situation.
