Tameen Khan, a sprinter from Peshawar, has won the 100-meter race in the ongoing National Athletics Championship.
According to the details, she earned the title by crossing the finish line in just 11.86 seconds. She has now become the fastest woman sprinter in Pakistan.
“I worked really hard for this over the past couple of years. During the race, I defeated opponents who have been competing for the past 10 years,” she said while talking to the media.
In light of her outstanding performance, she also hopes to be sent abroad to hone her skills. She is optimistic about making Pakistan proud all over the world.
“I’m hopeful that after this performance I will be sent abroad for better training. Athletes need exposure and better facilities,” she said.
It’s worth noting that at the event, Tameen was representing the Pakistan Army.
