Without Speakers, This 8K Smart TV Produces Sound

Skyworth, a Chinese electronics company, unveiled two new high-end televisions at its product launch event yesterday. These 8K OLED TVs are the first to have versatile displays from Original Brand Manufacturer (OBM) as well as a slew of other high-end features.

The two TV versions are known as W82 and W92, and they both have lightweight OLED panels with 8K resolution, making them industry firsts. The W92 boasts an 88-inch screen with a 7680×4320-pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This monitor supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as Skyworth’s upgraded AI engine.

MEMC chips in these Smart TVs allow 120 frames per second at 8K resolution for the best gaming experience.

Acoustic Glass Sound Technology, which requires the whole glass panel to emit sound, is another market first on these TVs. Four 30-core electromagnetic drivers are uniformly spaced across the glass plate and move the glass directly to create sound.

For the best immersive listening experience, the sound system also features Skyworth’s self-developed Acoustic Built-in Bass Drum, pneumatic tweeters, and a point-to-face sound function.

At the top of the TV is a 12MP gimbal AI sensor that can fire in all directions. This camera has features like family treatment, panoramic family photo, portrait monitoring video call, and more, and it can take simple pictures even in low light conditions.

In China, the Skyworth 8K OLED TV would cost $30,521 to get.
