Despite the fact that Pakistan’s participation in international football is now being suspended owing to intervention from third parties, the nation continues to make news in the world’s most lucrative sport for the right reasons. It is making footballs that will be used once more at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar in November and December. Qatar is the first Gulf country to host the event, and the draws were held there a few days ago, the day after the FIFA Congress.
Sheikh Zohaib Rafique Sethi, senior vice president of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), stated that the Sialkot-produced Al Rihla football would be used in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to Rafique, “Forward Sports” was supplying footballs for the FIFA World Cup for the third time. He continued by saying that Qatari culture served as inspiration for the football’s design.
He claimed that because the globe was heading toward sustainability, recycled bio-based materials were employed in the production of footballs. According to him, water-based chemicals that do not contaminate the environment were employed in the manufacturing process rather than solvent chemicals.
Khawaja Masood Akhtar, the chairman of Forward Sports, an Adidas contract manufacturer, was quoted by DAWN as saying,
“We are honoured to have been chosen once more to supply footballs for the World Cup, and this is a testament to the high calibre we have continued to uphold”
Al-Rihla in Arabic translates to “the Journey”, It is the name of the ball that will be used in the official World Cup match, which was uncovered by Adidas in Doha in March.
