Dr Tasnim Ahsan Becomes The First Pakistani Winner of the Laureate Award

First endocrinologist from Pakistan receives Laureate Award

Pakistani endocrinologist Dr. Emerita Tasnim Ahsan has received the Endocrine Society’s prestigious Laureate Award 2023. She is one of the founding members of the Pakistan Endocrine Society.

Around 12 health professionals and experts were shortlisted to receive recognition for their services this year under the Laureate awards. The award acknowledges and celebrates the hard work and success of endocrine researchers worldwide and Tasnim, the JPMC professor, is one of them. 

Emerita has earned the International Excellence in Endocrinology award for her outstanding contributions to the field in areas with insufficient resources for hormone health research, clinical practice, education, or administration. For Pakistan, this is really a time of pride.

Dr. Emerita Tasnim Ahsan – A Brief Profile

Tasnim began working in this industry in 1993 at one public hospital, JPMC, and she has been there for more than 25 years.

She provides care to a huge transgender community and is committed to enhancing access to care. 

She also has trained over 100 postgraduate trainee doctors and published many articles in national and international journals. 

Right now Tasnim is one of Pakistan’s biggest and internationally recognized clinicians and educators.

It is also pertinent to note that the talented Pakistani Professor is a Graduate of Dow Medical College.
