HEC Chairman Advocates Blended and Hybrid Learning

At the 7th International Applied Business Research Conference at International Islamic University, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of HEC (Higher Education Commission) stated that the world is moving towards the digital age, and is introducing innovation and technology in the education sector, therefore HEC is also stepping up to help universities adopt smart classrooms.

He added that blended education and hybrid learning systems are being promoted in Pakistan to stay updated with the latest learning trends. 

Considering the pandemic, the chairman mentioned that Smart University education has benefited global education during Covid-19 and it’s important for us to follow the trend. 

He also stressed the use of Cloud Computing.

During the closing ceremony, the HEC chairman appreciated the efforts of IIUI in organizing the conference.

Speaking on the occasion, IIU President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi also stressed the digitization of the education sector. 

He explained that today we see advancements in technologies like Robotics, 3D printing, and AI (artificial intelligence) after the Internet.

He added that the world is moving very fast, accelerated by technology and so should we.
