On Thursday 21st July, the BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly announced that the Asia Cup 2022, will be played in the UAE instead of Sri Lanka.
The formal announcement was made at the Apex Council Meeting. According to Sourav Ganguly, UAE is the only region that won’t experience rainfall during the tournament.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had informed the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Jay Shah, about their inability to hold the tournament.
The reason lies in the economic and political crises that have gripped Sri Lanka.
The Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin on 27th August and end on September 11. Cricket fans all over Asia are eager to watch the matches with their favorite players and teams delivering great performances.
