In April 2023, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) approved a new policy that mandated the installation of rainwater harvesting systems in both residential and commercial buildings.
According to the policy, no building’s map will be approved unless it includes a water recharging well and a water reuse system with a tank.
This move was intended to enhance water conservation efforts undertaken by the CDA.
