Government Is Planning Reforms in Airport Operations to Facilitate Passengers

Since the Government has announced the ban on several imported products; therefore, the security check has been tightened up at the Airport. Passengers for this reason are facing a lot of issues with the security of the airport since their personal belongings are being confiscated by the officers. Salman Sufi, the head of the Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms Unit, visited Lahore airport on Saturday night to assess the services offered to passengers and enquire about complaints concerning the confiscation of visitors’ personal belongings.

He asked the customs department to strengthen its luggage receiving and inspection mechanism so that passengers have a positive experience and that personal presents and cuisines should not be confiscated. Salman directed the Civil Aviation Authority to supply strollers for passengers’ children as soon as possible, and that special rooms be provided for disabled passengers so that they can rest in the event of flight delays.

According to Salman Sufi, work has begun to administer the Lahore airport in a new manner so that the greatest services may be provided to travellers, as per Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s vision.
