Haider Ali Rizwan – Asia’s No. 1 Under 16 Tennis Player

Haider Ali Rizwan, an emerging tennis star, surpassed all other U-16 tennis players in the latest under-16 rankings issued on Monday.

Haider has been in spectacular form throughout the u16 tennis tournament—leading the point charts with 965 points. In the semi-finals, he defeated Sheheryar Anees by 6-4, 6-1. 

The LGS student encountered tough competition from his opponent in the first set, but after leveling the score at 4-all, he settled down and won the next two games in a row to win it 6-4.

He easily won the second set by a score of 6-1 to get a place in the tournament final.

Asim Bilal was another player, who set the final showdown against Haider, upon conquering feisty Hussnain Ali Rizwan by 7-6, 6-0. 

Asim has been placed ninth in the ATF Junior Tennis Tour Rankings.

In addition to claiming two silver medals at the Asian competition in Uzbekistan, Haider also won two gold and one bronze medal in Tajikistan in July.

Back-to-back top-notch performances have aided him in securing this position, and honor. 

Haider expressed his gratitude to his parents, coach Muhammad Khalid, and well-wishers for this fantastic feat. He also promised to put in more effort to help his nation win more accolades at the ITF levels.

The U-16 ATF Junior Tennis Tour Ranking’s top spot has never been held by a Pakistani player until Haider.
