  • Pakistan refuses to participate in World Cup 2023 in India
  • Talks underway to resolve the issue

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has held to its firm stance on not participating in the World Cup 2023, to be held in India.

The decision comes as a backlash to the Board of Control for Cricket (BCC) Secretary, Jay Shah, refusing to participate in the Asia Cup scheduled in Pakistan.

The BCC has proposed to play at a Neutral Venue. As per reports, PCB officials stated in a meeting with the ICC that the team will only visit India if the government allows it.

Recently PCB officials held a meeting with ICC Chairman Greg Barclay and Chief Executive Geoff Allardice over concerns about the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

The matter is still under discussion, and a solution is expected in the coming days. The World Cup 2023 schedule is also facing a delay due to the same issue.

As cricket fans all over the world wait for the two big tournaments, only time will tell where the matches will be played.
