Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Sindh Transport and Information Minister recently stated that the provincial government is planning the Karachi-Sukkur Bullet Train Project.
The trains will travel from Karachi to Hyderabad in the 1st phase.
In the 2nd phase, they will travel from Hyderabad to Sukkur.
The Minister said that they needed cooperation from the World Bank to execute the project.
Import of 300 Electric Buses
The Sindh gov has also requested financing from the World Bank for the import of 300 electric buses for Karachi city.
The proposal came in a meeting between Sharjeel Memon and a delegation of the World Bank led by Shomik Mehndiratta (Practice Manager Transport) in Karachi.
Survey of the Bus Rapid Transit Yellow line
A Joint survey of the Bus Rapid Transit Yellow line in Karachi was agreed upon by the Sindh government and representatives of the World Bank.
