Since the Orange Line was launched in Lahore, it has served up to 50 million passengers.
It began operations on 25th October 2020 and has made commuting simpler for the general public of Lahore, ever since.
The Orange Line project was constructed by the China Railway Group Co Ltd and China North Industries.
Its maintenance and operations are managed by Norinco International with Guangzhou Metro Group along with Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Ltd.
25 Million Kilometers Completed
It has been reported that the Orange Line Metro Train has completed 25 million kilometers, and 200,000 trips with 99.99 % punctuality so far.
The company was also successful in achieving 97% of staff localization.
Last Tuesday, a ceremony celebrating the 2-years of the Orange Line, was organized and attended by the Chinese engineers, Pakistani staff, the ina’s general counsel in Lahore, and senior officials of the Punjab Mass transit Authority (PMA).
The Orange Line – Successes
The trains operate daily from 6 am to 10 pm from Ali Town to Dera Gujran through 26 stations.
The project has created more than 2,000 local jobs and has secured top awards like “The brand of the Year Award 2021″, the ‘CEO of the Year 2021′, awarded by the Brands Foundation, and the “Emerging Brand of the Year” in the urban rail transit category.
