Chris R. Holden, an important member of the California State Assembly, has sent an invitation to the Punjab CM of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to formally establish a “sister state” alliance.
Per the sources, the chief minister presided over a special meeting to discuss this topic, during which former federal secretary Salman Ghani revealed details about the agreement.
Ilahi emphasized the need of fostering Pakistan’s relationships with California in the fields of culture, technology, health, information, and education.
He said the accord will improve trade, and economic ties between Pakistan and California as well as boost investment between the two countries.
The chief minister Punjab further said that a separate cell will be established in the Planning and Development Board to give the agreement a final shape and carry out the duty of its implementation.
