Unbeaten Pakistan Sail into Semis After Victory Against Sri Lanka

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in the 21st match of the Women’s Asia Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh. It is green shirts’ fifth victory in six games in the ongoing Asia cup

The Pakistan cricket board credited right-arm off-spinner Sohail with a breakthrough and the wicket of Nilakshi de Silva in the opening over.

In addition to Nilakshi de Silva’s dismissal, Sohail took four more wickets in her following two overs, two in each.

Meanwhile, spin twins Tuba Hasan and Nida Dar split three wickets as Sri Lanka was bowled in the 19th over for 112 runs

Sri Lanka’s captain Chamari Athapaththu led the way with a 26-ball 41 that contained nine fours.

When the green team came to bat, the openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin provided a good 28-run start in 4.1 overs. 

But after Sidra’s withdrawal, batters kept returning back leaving the team struggling at 51 for four in 9.2 overs.

Pakistan stabilized a little when Aliya Riaz joined Nida Dar. The duo made a crucial 45-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Ayesha, the right-handed batter, finished the match with an unblemished 16 off five balls, including two sixes.
