The committee said it received reports of the moon sighting from different parts of the country. Because of this, the members agreed that 1st Zilhaj 1447 AH will begin on May 18, and Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27.

People know this holy month as the Feast of Sacrifice. It honors Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH)’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. Muslims celebrate the occasion with Eid prayers, sacrifice of their animals, family gathering with cooking food of various kinds, and sharing meat with their loved ones and those in need.

As families across Pakistan prepare to celebrate, this occasion serves as a reminder to share blessings with other and especially those in need. May Allah accept our sacrifices and may this Eid bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to everyone.
