In Pakistan, Jeeny, a ride-sharing service based in the Middle East, plans to begin its services.
According to the company’s official announcement, offices would be opened in Lahore and Karachi, with activities likely to begin in both locations. Currently, the organization is looking to hire employees in Lahore.
Middle East-based smartphone app Jeeny provides many services, including transportation, integrated wallet top-up transactions, on-demand mobility, and a wallet that covers all services together.
Jeeny, a joint venture between the MEIG (Middle East Internet Group) – Rocket Internet and IMENA groups, has headquarters located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with other offices and operations in Jeddah, Madinah, Dammam, Khobar, and Amman.
In 2014, Saudi Arabia and Jordan saw the introduction of Jeeny, formerly known as Easy Taxi. It’s a well-known online cab service in the United States and Canada. It presents itself as a low-cost app for reserving city rides.
Introducing the new App-based ride service is very challenging in Pakistan considering the present scenario unless introducing a fresh idea like carpooling or intra-city services, etc.
App-based taxi services like Uber and Careem in Pakistan have been hit hard by the rise in the price of petroleum products in Pakistan and internationally. A combination of increased prices and high inflation is limiting the usage of these services for commutes, making them less popular.
Since its introduction, InDriver has raised the bar for other companies in the market by offering clients lower prices. Customers prefer InDriver because of the lower fares, while drivers prefer Russian-App because of the higher profit margins.
On top of that, clients who require a daily commute are using social media to organize carpools in large cities, sacrificing their freedom and privacy in the process.
