Muhammad Rizwan Nominated for ICC Men’s T20I Player of the Month Award

For the Men’s Player of the Month award for September 2022, the International Cricket Council has chosen three deserving finalists, including star Pakistani  wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.

Australian player Cameron Green and Indian player Axar Patel are the other two nominees for the prize.

Mohammad Rizwan – Achievements 

The No. 1 T20I batsman in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Player Rankings maintained his dominance in the shortest version of the game and earned a spot on the shortlist for September’s Player of the Month.

Rizwan scored seven fifty-point plays in the ten games he played in the previous month. He started the month off with two 70+ scores in the Asia Cup matches against India and Hong Kong. He finished the match with yet another fifty and was the player who scored the most runs. However, Pakistan failed to cross the finish line.

He recorded four scores of 60+ in the first five T20Is of the seven-match series against England, assisting his team in taking a 3-2 lead. He nevertheless finished the series as the highest run-scorer with 316 runs at an average of 63.20 while going at 138.60 despite playing one less game.
