The officials of Pakistan have finally formally approached Russian authorities to purchase inexpensive oil and gas.
According to sources with knowledge of the situation, the authorities have told the Russian government that they are interested in purchasing inexpensive oil and gas in exchange for their promise not to impose any limitations on Pakistan.
“The public interest will be taken into consideration as we negotiate with Russia, and we’ll make sure that no international agreements are broken in the process”.
It is important to note that this development comes a month after Ishaq Dar, the federal finance minister, stated that the Shehbaz-led government was considering the option of importing oil from Russia.
