Pakistan Dispatches Relief Goods for Afghan Earthquake Victims

Pakistan rushes assistance and decides to dispatch eight truckloads of aid to quake-hit Afghans. Humanitarian aid including necessary medicines, blankets, covers, and family tents will be provided to the Afghan authorities.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent aid to the earthquake victims in Afghanistan on the special orders of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.

Pakistan has pledged to support Afghanistan fully during this difficult period.

It is noteworthy that a strong earthquake struck a remote border region of Afghanistan overnight, killing at least 1,000 people and injuring 1,500 more. As desperate rescuers search wrecked homes, the death toll is sure to grow.

The earthquake was most severe in the rugged east, where people already lead hard lives and are dealing with a humanitarian situation that has gotten worse since the Taliban took control in August.
