Saudi Arabia Announces Fully Funded Scholarships for Pakistani Students

Pakistani students can now avail fully funded scholarships by the Saudi Arabian government.

The scholarships will allow students to study at the kingdom’s top 25 universities and get a diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, or a Ph.D. degree. 

75% of the scholarships will be offered to Pakistani students while 25% will be given to Pakistan residents living in Saudi Arabia. 

The scholarship includes a stipend and multiple other benefits.

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) declared the scholarship program in the following fields:

  • Politics
  • Education
  • Law
  • Economics
  • Administration
  • Computer Science
  • Engineering
  • Arabic
  • Agriculture
  • Media Sciences
  • Islamic Studies

Stipends and Benefits

Science students will receive a monthly stipend of 900 Saudi Riyal (SR) while students from the humanity group will be offered 850 Saudi Riyal (SR). 

Along with the stipend, students will also get the following benefits:

  • Return ticket 
  • Support for dependents and travel expenses.  
  • Sports and recreational activities (on-campus)
  • Free medical care for the student and his/her family (married scholars)
  • Subsidized meals (on-campus)
  • Permission for 3-month furnishings (married scholars)
  • 3-month graduation allowance for books

Eligibility 

Students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) should be 17 to 25 years old for Bachelor’s programs. 

For masters, they should be younger than 30 and under 35 for Ph.D. programs. The student should fall in the above age brackets till the closing date of the application. 

Allotted Seats

Each university in Saudi Arabia is allowed to admit only 5% of international students. This doesn’t include Jamia Islamia Madinah Munawara and Princess Noor Binte Abdul Rehman University for Girls in Riyadh, where 8% of international students are allowed.

At Jamia Islamia Madinah Munawara, 85% of students are offered scholarships.
